The time is now getting very close for our departure. It's getting into the evening, and while I have most everything else accomplished, I still have my clothes packing to do. I'm only taking a small suitcase and my red backpack (already known for its many journeys to China).
Somehow, I'm anticipating some challenges this trip. We have some special cultural assignments along with some faith teaching. Additionally, I will be leading the Sunday celebration for the expats. We'll be visiting a drug rehab center, a senior citizen housing unit, a very large high school, and Lutheran schools in Hong Kong. Our team will be stretched, but we will grow.
For Brogan and I, it will be a return to "old haunts," while for the four freshmen women, it will be a totally new experience. I'm looking forward to some fine Chinese cuisine in only a couple of days.
I'm thankful that you will be keeping us in your thoughts during kneetime.
A cut from the life of the Rosholt Selles; A slice of culture from central Wisconsin; A piece of overseas mission; all from the heart of one who is richly blessed by the Heavenly Father.

Indecisiveness
I'm concerned that doing this blog will tie me down, but it certainly will also give opportunity to share some great experiences.
So watch as we go. Departure is set for 6 am on US Airways from Appleton, WI.

Still Experimenting
I think that there are a variety of things that you can do with a blog, and I hope to be learning a few of them so that this can be an interesting place for you to visit.
Preparing for the trip
Today is one more blessed Christmas. Vicar Andy preached a great message at St. Paul this morning and now I'm home thinking about what needs to be prepared for our departure for China on Dec. 29.
The blog is a new effort for me to communicate electronically. We'll see how it goes.
Wishing all of you a blessed Christmas!
