Sister, Jean, and husband, Paul, just left for Wausau for the antique/flea market sale at D.C.Everest High School - for the day today and 8 hours tomorrow. We had a good time last evening playing euchre (Jean was relearning after realizing she hadn't played since college days). Our cards followed a SUPERB meal by chef Karol: fried fish (blue gills), corn casserole, coleslaw, Hassenbach potatoes, and applesauce cake with caramel frosting for dessert. Yum!
(The artist I tried to remember in the video is Thomas Kinkaid)

A look out of our kitchen window. This is also where we spend time watching the many birds who come to our feeders. |
|
While I was outside, Karol stayed inside to read to Isaac and Caleb via Skype (I think Matthew enjoyed the story too!) |
|
I was intrigued by the shadow of the end logs on our home providing an interesting pattern on the smooth snow. |

We still live on Highway 66 (not the famous 66 that traverses the U.S., but a short state highway in Wisconsin. |

One of the many pine siskins visiting us this winter. We really hate to feed them because they are so susceptible to salmonella. |

A neighboring homestead provides a good photo op. |

The trees become the framework for frozen moisture. |

Again this morning, Karol and I expressed thanks to God for the wonder of our home. We are so appreciate of this blessing of a "homey" home! |
|
Believe it or not, in less than three months, we will again be able to fish off of the pier in our little "half acre lake." |
Sure missed a good meal! Great pictures of the snow. Wish we had more here to appreciate!
