SIU LEUN ON TUESDAY

Today I had the opportunity to work with Kelly, a volunteer from Asheville, North Carolina, who is here in Hong Kong for six months. She is supplementing the curriculum with English teaching both here at Siu Leun and also at LCK. Today was mostly math.
Kelly teaches math for the P1A students (In addition to primary 1, the level A, B or C is added)

A class teacher led the students in the rhyme "Five Little Monkeys."  You might think that the classroom is a bit chaotic. Well, some are, and others are very disciplined and orderly.

College students wait in the lobby before tutoring primary students.
Volunteers are important in the ministry here in Hong Kong. On the left, Jane and Hannah plan a lesson. On the right, Jane and Roger share lunch and conversation with a select group of students.

"Deacon" Albert works here at Siu Leun with the children, a tutoring program, and assists with Sunday worship at Holy Word, the congregation that meets here at the school. He has become a good friend since I first met him in 2010 on our first Hong Kong mission trip. Albert and I went out to our favorite noodle shop this noon to enjoy conversation and bowls of noodles (as seen below). Albert is married and has one daughter (P6).

Albert chose the noodles on the left (all kinds of beef innards - you can take a guess). I enjoyed the wonton noodles on the right. The green, you guessed it, is lettuce.
This young man simply wants to send his greetings to each of you!
