Delta treated us well in the medical emergency incident causing us to return to Seattle. The Narita Radisson was very nice (except for the smoke-used room I stayed in), the meals were good, and transportation to and from the hotel were well coordinated. I'm thankful for the way that Delta handled that emergency just for one man.

From the airport, I took the MTR and transferred three times (was proud of my acumen at getting around in Hong Kong) getting to the Scheiwe home about 3 pm. Met Steve Wesenauer (missionary Asia), Todd Roeske (Alaska mission, but still travelling to the Philippines several times per year), and Sean Harlow (new missionary in Taiwan).

Spent the evening with former In-Depth Participant, Kara Fok, and her friend. Dinner, walking around the Prince Edward area, and stopping for a late dessert. Good to interact with her again (saw her also in February when I visited her church fellowship). At my 11 pm bedtime, I am dog tired.

l to r: Todd Roeske, Sean Harlow, Steven Wiesenauer (all Asian missionaries)

Joel Scheiwe and daughter, Eliada. Joel serves in Asia.
These were food choices from which the chef made the hot pot (a mixture of ingredients placed on a bed of rice in bowls that were heated on a gas grill).
Cooking right on the street in very commercialized downtown Hong Kong. It did attract diners.

Kara in her graduation garb. She'll graduate on Nov. 1. Is now working a new job that she seems to like well.

While waiting for Kara at the MTR station, I thought I catch the traffic at just one of the stairway/escalators that are located in the station.
