Brother John, nephew Jon, and I got up about seven to grab a bite to eat and then head out birdwatching. Jon has found a little lake about 20 minutes from his home. It was a chilly morning with a bit of wind, but the sun was shining so it was pleasant outside.
The following pictures give you a feel for our journey. We didn't see many birds, but it nice to get out. Lots of walkers, joggers, and fishermen.

The lake was so quiet that the reflection showed beautifully. |

These gentlemen were catching fish - all very small, but they were excited about catching them. |
The perfect spot! |
This man must have heard Jesus call, "Brother, go out into the deep where the fish are to be found." Maybe Jesus didn't really say that! |
The flowers are just beginning to come out. I hope that I'll be able to show you lots more. |

This may have been some kind of plum tree. |
The White Wagtail male (the female was nearby). It was fun to take the bird pictures. |
This is called the Great Grebe (a relative of the Pied-Billed Grebe that we have in the States). |
Other birds that we saw were: European Starling, Little Grebe, Blackbird, Marsh Harrier, Magpie, Hooded Crow, Barn Swallow, Fieldfare, Armenian Gull, Redstart, and English Sparrow.

A view of Tbilisi from up near the lake. |

Ancient, and probably homemade, slide outside the apartment. |
The swingset outside of the apartment. Creative, if nothing else. |
This post is for the birds.
