On Sunday afternoon, we ventured out to go to the "flea market." At this market were many vendors selling antiques, oil paintings, handcrafts, horns and swords of many kinds, and whatever was "leftover in the home."
The weather was beautiful - sunshine and about 70 degrees. So the walk was pleasant and the merchants were very willing to talk about possible sales.

All kinds of "old things" were available for purchase. Glassware and table service, old pots and pans, 33 rpm records, swords, maps, leftovers from the Russian occupation, and motor parts. If you needed something, you would be able to find it here. |
|
Sellers and customers haggled and searched, trying to find an agreement for purchase. |
|
Swords seemed to be a hot commodity. New and old were available. |
|
This seller, seems to me, enjoyed having his 2.5 liter plastic bottle of beer handy. |
|
For the folks that were not involved in the buying and selling, chess seemed to be the name of the game. |
|
This is serious stuff - and a wonderful way to relax on a Sunday afternoon. |

This gentleman polishes up his products. I met a man who did stone carving and asked him how much the piece was selling for. His reply, "$2,500." Items ranging from inexpensive to priceless were displayed at this flea market. |

This artist was in the process of completing his work of art. |

Along the main street (between street and sidewalk), grass and trees were planted. Among the greenery were pansies and tulips. Enjoy!
Georgians are known for their paintings. More than half of the market was for this kind of art. It was fun to walk and browse at a slow pace. We were able to purchase a few things. And while there is a bit of bargaining, it isn't the rule of the day - and people are not willing to budge too much on their prices.

Lilacs are in. A couple takes a bouquet home with them. |

You never know what you will read on the walls of grafitti. |
This is just a PS to the blog. My sister-in-law, Cheryl Selle, said that she is bent out of shape because she is not getting enough recognition on this blog. May it be said there that we are "ENJOYING OUR TIME WITH CHERYL." Eat your heart out, Cheryl.
Carl Selle: I did not say anything about being out of shape because I wasn't getting enough recognition on this blog. You edited what I said incorrectly. So readers out there - That is not what I said and I think Carl owes me an apology. Cheryl Selle
