LUKE TURNS FIVE

On Friday this past week, we made a one day trip to Sturgeon Bay up in Door County, one of the classy tourist areas in northeastern Wisconsin. Nathan and Holly and their two children have lived there for a little over a year. August 31 happened to be Luke's birthday (you could say we made the trip intentionally).

Megan is two.
and loves her dad, Nathan.
Luke celebrated his fifth birthday. It was the same week that he began kindergarten. I was amazed that he was able to read all of his birthday cards (even the cursive notes).

Back at home, we're ready for winter. This represents only about 1/4 of the wood stockpiled for this winter and next. You have to know that some of these logs will be cut up into blanks and I will turn a hopefully beautiful bowl from that blank (mostly cherry, maple, birch).

I value the wildlife found on our 15 acres. Sadly, the lawnmower killed this beautiful smooth green snake, held hesitatingly by our granddaughter, Rachel. These snakes feed on insects, grubs and worms. The young are emerald green upon hatching.
We are absolutely blessed to live in this country paradise. Thank you, Jesus.
